“The Art of Hummingbirds”
West Valley Arts IMPRINT Series Workshop: The Art Of Hummingbirds - Painting Workshop with Edgar Fernandez
About this event
Have you ever met a hummingbird? Do you know of their rich history in indigenous and native cultures?
Through the medium of painting, come explore the beauty, energy, and cross-cultural symbolism of the hummingbird. Lead by local Xicano artist Edgar Fernandez, come learn the diverse meanings and histories that various cultures share in regards to this small bird; all while being guided through painting your very own hummingbird in a way that identifies your individuality, culture, or history. Do this by choosing colors, textures, imagery, and symbology that collectively bring dimension and personality to your work on canvas. Your painting will be unique to you and can be abstract, expressive, stylized, or realistic.
